What Does It Mean?

The antifungal protocol is designed to address systemic or localized fungal overgrowth, such as Candida, which can lead to gut dysbiosis, systemic inflammation, and immune dysfunction. Fungal overgrowth often results from antibiotic overuse, high-sugar diets, and compromised immune function.

Key Physiological Imbalances:

  • Gut Dysbiosis: Overgrowth of opportunistic yeast strains disrupting microbiome balance.
  • Weakened Immune Function: Chronic infections lead to increased susceptibility.
  • Toxin Accumulation: Mycotoxins released by fungi contribute to inflammation and oxidative stress.
  • Nutrient Malabsorption: Fungal overgrowth can impair digestion and absorption of key vitamins and minerals.

How Did We Get There?

Common Contributing Factors:

  • Overuse of antibiotics without probiotic replenishment
  • Diet high in refined sugars and processed carbohydrates
  • Chronic stress weakening immune defenses
  • High alcohol consumption and frequent use of corticosteroids
  • Poor gut health and lack of beneficial bacteria

Signs & Symptoms:

  • Chronic bloating, gas, and digestive discomfort
  • Sugar and carbohydrate cravings
  • Brain fog, fatigue, and difficulty concentrating
  • Skin rashes, fungal infections, and nail discoloration
  • Frequent urinary tract or yeast infections

Diagnostic Criteria:

Diagnosis is based on symptom presentation and laboratory testing.

How Do We Treat It?

Treatment focuses on reducing fungal overgrowth, restoring microbiome balance, and supporting immune function.
